Artificial intelligence is at the heart of the energy transition. At Tilt Energy, we are developing a 100% software-based platform that predicts, controls, and monetizes electrical flexibility to balance an increasingly volatile power grid.
Today, we are taking a new step forward: Tilt Energy is the first French start-up to join the Google for Startups AI for energy program, a major initiative designed to drive innovation, sustainability, and reliability in the energy landscape.
A global-scale program
The Google for Startups AI program brings together small groups of 10 to 15 startups from around the world. Founders join a mix of online and in-person sessions, combining one-on-one mentoring, group workshops, and short project sprints designed to solve real business challenges.
The support goes from tech architecture, product design and machine learning models, to customer acquisition, growth, and leadership, and even energy specific challenges such as markets & regulation. You can benefit from all the Google expertise!
A key milestone for Tilt Energy
This support represents a unique opportunity for Tilt to exponentially accelerate the deployment of our AI-powered flexibility platform: connecting tens of thousands of buildings in real time, strengthening our forecasting models, and deploying advanced control and energy trading algorithms.
Our goal: turning our AI into a core driver of grid decarbonization and customer savings.
As Romain Serres - cofounder & CEO at Tilt - explains, this program comes at a decisive moment : “Over the next three months, our priority is to scale our AI-powered flexibility platform to manage tens of thousands of buildings in real time. This program comes at a pivotal moment for Tilt Energy, as we expand into new markets and unlock flexible capacity — turning our AI into a core driver of grid decarbonization and customer savings.”
AI serving the energy transition
The power grid faces a dual challenge: more intermittent production amid the rise of renewables, and more unpredictable consumption due to electric vehicles, heat pumps, and air conditioning. The result: volatile prices, network congestions, and increased reliance on fossil power plants.
Tilt is deeply convinced that flexibility, thanks to AI, can be a strategic asset for the electricity system. The new complexities of the grid can only be managed thanks to new models and forecasts that will allow to better connect electricity consumers to producers, markets, and grid managers.
Recognition and acceleration
Joining the Google for Startups AI program is both a recognition of our pioneering work on demand-side electricity management and a decisive accelerator for our growth.
Artificial intelligence will play a central role in the energy transition. This partnership with Google gives us the means to move faster and further, and to achieve our ambition: Unlock demand-side flexibility at scale to decarbonize heating, mobility, and the energy grid.
